This contemporary four-level home in Hampstead, NW London, exemplifies the impact of precision-engineered glazing in modern architectural design. Designed in collaboration with Berzins Architects, this project highlights our expertise in supplying and installing a complete range of premium aluminium windows, doors, and specialist glass features.

Maximising Light with Architectural Glazing

The home’s exterior features a striking combination of brick construction, grey cladding, and matching grey aluminium glazing, creating a modern yet timeless aesthetic. A key aspect of the design was to maximise natural light, with carefully positioned glazing allowing daylight to fill the interior from all sides.

Slimline Aluminium Windows for a Minimalist Look

At the front of the home, we installed the leading Origin OW70 slimline aluminium windows in RAL 7016 anthracite grey. These were designed with large, fixed panes and slim side-hung opening windows, providing unobstructed views with minimal framing. Along the side elevations, we fitted fixed picture windows that illuminate the home’s elegantly shaped staircases, reinforcing the architectural intent of light-filled spaces.

A key design feature is the use of fixed picture corner windows, engineered as stylish window seats with a near frameless corner detail. These windows, set within modern grey cladding and aluminium pressings, enhance the property’s contemporary aesthetic while delivering exceptional thermal performance.

Ultra-Slim and High-Performance Door Solutions

At the rear of the property, we installed several sets of Origin OB-49 ultra-slim French doors. With some of the narrowest sightlines available, these doors seamlessly connect the living areas to the outdoor space while maintaining the home’s contemporary style.

One of the most unique aspects of this project is the specialist glazing in the indoor pool area. We installed Sunflex SVG20 sliding doors with a custom specialist coating to ensure durability in the chlorine-rich environment. These high-end sliding doors provide expansive glass panels, flooding the space with natural light while maintaining a sleek and modern aesthetic.

On the top floor, the gym features a premium Schüco AS FD 75 bifold door leading to a balcony, topped with a large gable-shaped fixed picture window. These German-engineered bifold doors are designed for outstanding thermal insulation, smooth operation, and durability, making them an ideal solution for high-end properties.

Bespoke Architectural Glass Features

To further enhance the architectural glazing, we incorporated several bespoke glass elements. One of the standout features is a Howells frameless glass rooflight, structurally supported by glass fins, providing a near-invisible glazing solution above the pool. This cutting-edge installation allows natural light to flood the space while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.

Adding to the home’s contemporary design, a walk-on glass panel was installed in the gym floor, allowing light to pass through to the lower levels while serving as a striking design feature. Other specialist glazing installations include:
